Homebrew Warfleet sighted in Cassidy’s!

Well – of the (many many) cool gaming related things I have seen over the last few years, what I saw last night in Cassidy’s tops the bill! I thought it was cool when I came in and one of the lads was creating a D&D 2nd Ed Paladin and was choosing the “interesting” 2nd Ed options for weapons etc instead of Min-Maxing (Wow – how things have changed!) but then I got a real treat…
Over in one corner of the lower floor was a small table with 2 blue boards on it and a few island maps from the Wizkids games Pirates of… Thinking there was a game of Pirates going on I wandered over only to realise that the boats were way cooler than the Pirates miniatures! As you’ll see from the pictures below they are really neat confederate riverboats made from wood chips all painted up and stuck to blue board! Very cool, very cool indeed!
Once again I was struck with how many deadly little bits and pieces of innovation go on in the Irish Gaming Community (and probably in the games community as a whole)! Makes me proud to be a gamer
